As many of you know, one of the greatest gifts my mama gave me was an incredible attitude about aging. I hit the jackpot on that one!
As each decade passed, she'd proclaim that that decade was the best ever. "Girls, just wait till you hit your 60's. THAT's when life really starts".
Her attitude didn't change until her late 70's when she started declining.
So Mom, thank you for this golden gift.
Time is precious. I absolutely LOVE being in my 60's (because I say it every chance I get!)
If you're ready for a change in your own attitude about aging, here's some food for thought.
James Clear, author of Atomic Habits, suggested the following:
"…improving by 1 percent isn't particularly notable – sometimes it isn't even noticeable – but it can be far more meaningful, especially in the long run. The difference a tiny improvement can make over time is astounding."
So, my challenge to you is this: If you feel an age bitch surfacing, practice NOT saying it – just a 1% change - and see how your AGE attitude changes.
Wanna live on the wild side? Replace it with "I love getting older."
